Valerio De Molli: Azerbaijan ranks first in region for data centers, fiber-optic coverage

Azerbaijan has become the first state in the South Caucasus and Central Asia region to adopt a national strategy for AI, Report informs, citing Valerio De Molli, Managing Partner and CEO of TEHA Group (The European House - Ambrosetti), speaking at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026).

He noted that the country also maintains leading positions in data center infrastructure and fiber-optic network coverage.

"Azerbaijan is number one in data centers, number one in fiber-optic connections and coverage, as well as the first state in the region to develop an AI strategy. This looks very promising for businesses and sectors interested in digital transformation and attracting investment," he emphasized.

According to De Molli, two Tier 3 data centers equipped with high-speed communication channels are already operational in the country.
