Tech jobs pay off: ICT wages soar in Azerbaijan

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Azerbaijan is experiencing a remarkable growth, with average monthly salaries rising by an impressive 14% in the first four months of the year.

From January to April 2023, the average nominal monthly salary in the ICT sphere reached 1,727 manats (approximately $1,016), Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

The private sector has been leading the way in terms of remuneration, with an average monthly salary of 1,921 manats (approximately $1,130), compared to 1,465 manats (approximately $861) in the public sector.

Private sector wages have grown by 11.8% year-on-year, while public sector salaries have increased by 15.4%.

As of May 1, 2023, the ICT sector employed 33,800 people in Azerbaijan, representing a 5.6% increase compared to the previous year.
