Ministry: Measures being taken to commission Zangilan, Lachin airports on time

“The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan is working with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to commission the Zangilan and Lachin airports timely,” Aida Badalova, Adviser to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, said, Report informs.

“Work has begun on the first part of the Barda-Aghdam railway, the second part, as well as the design of the Fuzuli-Shusha and Horadiz-Aghband railway lines. Conceptual projects have also been prepared for the Kalbajar railway, and a feasibility study is underway. The work on the construction of air transport infrastructure is being carried out on the schedule. The opening of Fuzuli Airport took place on October 26 last year. Work is underway to begin construction of Zangilan International Airport, as well as Lachin International Airport. Necessary measures are being taken with ICAO and IATA to commission the airports timely,” she noted.
