Iranian Minister of Information and Communication Technologies expected to visit Baku

Minister of Information and Communication Technologies of Iranian Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi is expected to visit Baku in early December.

Report informs citing Iranian media that the Iranian minister is to attend the 25th Azerbaijan International Exhibition 'Telecommunications, innovations and high technologies'.

Jahromi has been attending the exhibition every year since appointment as the ICT Minister in August 2017.

As is noted, the Iranian government provides support to local technological firms and startups for participation in BakuTel 2019. Iranian organization of information technologies, the National Innovation Fund and vice president's bureau on science and technologies will provide financial support to local technological firms and startups for their participation in the exhibition.

Notably, the exhibition is to be held in Baku on December 3-6.

On the sidelines of BakuTel 2018, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed an agreement in line with which the four countries are to create the startup centers with the joint investments of $2 mln for expansion of technological cooperation. The four countries further agreed to create a joint market of technologies. These agreements are expected to be considered on the sidelines of BakuTel 2019.
