Igbal Babayev: Azerbaijan provides support to neighbor countries for installation of IT technologies in customs field - EXCLUSIVE

"Discussions on application of new technologies in the customs field in Azerbaijan will be held at the WCO IT/TI Conference & Exhibition to be held on June 12-14 in Baku. Studying leading technologies, as well as access of Azerbaijan internet technologies to world market and integration of Azerbaijani customs will also be discussed at the conference," Deputy Chairman of State Customs Committee Igbal Babayev told Report.

According to him, this event will allow to get close acquaintance with development of IT technologies in customs: "You know that Azerbaijan is the member of Advisory Council on development of IT technologies in customs in Central Asia, Asia and Pacific region. Azerbaijan provides support to neighbor countries for installation of IT technologies in customs field. More works will be done for extension of this field."

Babayev said that WCO holds IT conference and exhibition in member countries once a year: "This is a great event."

He reminded that the previous events were held in Peru, Uganda and Morocco: "Holding of such an event in Azerbaijan shows our country is reliable. On the other side, this field will develop more in Azerbaijan. Nearly 800 people from 150-170 countries are expected to attend the event."

Speaking about contribution of such events to Azerbaijan, the deputy chairman noted that the visitors will firstly see the beauties of Baku and regions, Azerbaijan’s development: "This event is also important in terms of tourism. We believe that the event will be held at high level."
