IDDA: Main goal is to make Azerbaijan's public services more proactive

The main goal of digitalization in Azerbaijan's public services is to create a more proactive government, Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan's Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, said on the second day of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), Report informs.

According to him, the priority is to deliver public services in a more contactless and proactive way: "Services must be directed to citizens and businesses so that applications, licensing, bureaucracy, paperwork, and other processes are minimized. Thus, the main goal of government digitalization is to reduce this gap to the minimum."

He noted that Azerbaijan's digitalization agenda aims to expand the digitalization of public services to over 80%: "Recently, Azerbaijan has adopted several strategic documents, including the digital development concept, AI strategy, and digital acceleration action plan. Therefore, the country's main goal in the digitalization agenda is to expand the digitalization of public services to more than 80%. This is our target and objective for the next three years."
