Farid Osmanov: Azerbaijan turns cybersecurity into strategic priority

Cybersecurity is becoming a strategic priority in Azerbaijan, Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan's Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, said at the 7th graduation ceremony of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (ACC), Report informs.
Osmanov highlighted that cybersecurity today is of great importance in Azerbaijan: "This field is no longer just tactical; it is becoming a targeted strategic priority. Within the framework of the action plan for accelerating digital development, it is envisaged to further expand the national cybersecurity ecosystem of our country, improve legal and regulatory acts in this direction, establish a national ecosystem, and especially train knowledgeable and skilled specialists. Against this background, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center continues its activities. Within this work, specialists are trained from the perspective of both classic attack and defense, known as Red & Blue Teams."
Osmanov added that alongside training programs, the next goal is to use the acquired knowledge and skills to create cybersecurity products: "So far, the ACC has held more than 70 hackathon events and developed more than seven cybersecurity and information security products. Some of these have already started their sales and business processes."
