Deputy Minister: Azerbaijan has serious shortage of ICT specialists

Today, there is a serious shortage of ICT specialists in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Farid Ahmadov said at the meeting of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee for Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising.
According to him, some areas have serious challenges related to cyber security, including cryptography and artificial intelligence.
The deputy minister said that training specialists in these fields is needed:
"These fields have great demand. This is a problem not only in Azerbaijan but all over the world. There is a serious shortage of specialists in this field in a country like the United States. We aim to train specialists in this field and create competitive products."
