Cancelation of daylight saving time will damage unlicensed operation systems in Azerbaijan

Baku. 26 October. REPORT.AZ/ Microsoft Corporation announced that there will not be time mismatch in computers with licensed Windows related to cancelation of daylight saving time in Azerbaijan.

Report informs, no problem related to time adjustment occurred in computers with licensed Windows after update of operation system aimed at adjustment of function for calculation of time and determination of time zone in the territory of Azerbaijan by Microsoft.

The corporation launched exclusive Windows Update for Azerbaijan. Updates available for users of all licensed versions of Windows from May 10 of this year.

Users of pirate copies and unlicensed operation systems as well as those who switched off update service will face mismatch in time. Above operation systems will automatically adjust for daylight saving time which will end up with incorrect time indication.

Notably, Azerbaijan used to adjust for daylight saving time on last Sundays of March and October. 

Cabinet of Ministers canceled application of daylight saving time by decree 131 dated March 17, 2016. As decree was issued several days before adjustment it caused some problems.
