Azerbaijani ministry: 'We rely on ISO standards in information security

It is necessary to rely on international ISO standards in information security, Nijat Aliyev, a representative of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Azerbaijan, said at the "Cyber-secure economy: reforms, innovative approaches and solutions" conference in Baku, Report informs.

"When we talk about standards, we must not forget about legal standards. If the country has legislation that takes into account the issues of the cyber system, then it is possible to achieve a result," he said.

"Now in the field of information security, most of all we rely on the ISO 27.001, 27.003 standards," he added.

ISO 27001 is an international information security standard developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission and the International Organization for Standardization. The ISO 27001 standard contains descriptions of the world's best practices in information security management. ISO 27001 specifies requirements for an information security management system to demonstrate an organization's ability to protect its information resources.
