Azerbaijan to take part in ITU Plenipotentiary Conference

Azerbaijan will take part in the 26th International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference, which will be held in Bucharest from September 26 until October 14, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

In anticipation of the event, a ministerial round table was reportedly held on the theme “Building a Better Digital Future for All”. The round table was attended by Minister Rashad Nabiyev, as well as representatives of about 40 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Portugal, Sweden.

Speaking at the event, the minister noted that favorable conditions have been created in Azerbaijan for public-private partnerships in order to develop appropriate infrastructure in remote areas of the country: “Thanks to the phased project, by 2024, Azerbaijan will achieve full coverage of broadband Internet with a speed of at least 25 Mbps.”
