Azerbaijan to host InnoWeek - Innovation Week

The second “InnoWeek - Innovation Week” will be held in Azerbaijan on October 18-24.

The project, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies together with the Heydar Aliyev Center, will host conferences, forums and exhibitions reflecting the latest innovations in high technology and innovation.

The events are held jointly with the Regional Development Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Youth Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Agency for Innovation, the United Nations Development Program, Azercell and Microsoft.

Within the InnoWeek, republican final of the “I2B – From Idea to Business” project will be held on October 18. The jury will assess the uniqueness, market potential of the project, benefitting period of the investment, period for preparation of prototype, team’s capacity to realize the idea. Holders of first three places will be financed to turn their ideas into business.

On October 19, Roboday exhibition will be held within the Robopark project of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. In order to make contribution to training of engineers on technologies, information about STEAM education program will be given, robot shows will be demonstrated.

One of the significant events within the InnoWeek is Baku E-Trade Forum (BEF-2019) to be held on October 21-22. The two-day forum will be attended by representatives of international organizations, state bodies, experts.

On October 22, a round table on 'Political vision to Innovation ecosystem’, organized by Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), will be held. The event will be attended by participants of the innovation ecosystem – government and non-government bodies, agencies, incubation-acceleration centers and heads of other related organizations.

One more significant event within the Innovation Week is Eurasia Innovation Day to be held on October 23 jointly with Huawei. The event will be attended by politicians, representatives of private sector and scientific figures.

The next event to be held on October 23 is Innovation Awards Gala, in which winners of nominations ‘the startup of the year’, ‘the influencer of the year’, ‘the innovation event of the year’, ‘representative of the innovation ecosystem of the year’ will be announced and be awarded Azerbaijan Innovation Prize. This prize was created to support players of local ecosystem for the country to add to the list of the top countries in the innovation ecosystem under the motto of ‘Innovative Azerbaijan’.

On October 24 - the last day of the Innovation Week – Kaspersky Security Day platform will be organized jointly by Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and Kaspersky company. The platform will be attended by representatives of state bodies, private sector, NGOs, higher education insitutions, scientific research institutions.

All events within the Innoweek will be held at Heydar Aliyev Center.
