Artificial intelligence to learn Azerbaijani language

The main task facing Microsoft Azerbaijan in developing the Artificial Intelligence Strategy is to teach the Azerbaijani language to artificial intelligence (AI), Chief Manager of Microsoft Azerbaijan Gachay Mirzayev said.

According to Report, Mirzayev was answering questions about the Artificial Intelligence Strategy developed by Microsoft for Azerbaijan.

He added that if all the requirements are met, artificial intelligence will be able to recognize the Azerbaijani language within two months.

“We need at least three million sentences in the Azerbaijani language that are equivalent to English,” Mirzayev said. “If we can submit them to Microsoft, the company will teach the Azerbaijani language to artificial intelligence. It means that any educational institution, business structure, and government agency will be able to use artificial intelligence. Imagine that you have an archive with a wealth of documents. Artificial intelligence, provided that it knows the Azerbaijani language, will be able to scan and read them.”

“We have already launched this project with Azerbaijan’s Education Ministry,” the chief manager noted. “If artificial intelligence doesn’t know the language of a country, it can be used only for numbers. At the next stages, speech recognition or the application of artificial intelligence in more serious areas can be considered.”
