A dangerous new piece of malware called 'Hook' has been uncovered that, once installed, can allow a hacker to control your Android phone remotely, stealing data, sending money and harvesting your WhatsApp messages.
Report informs, citing foreign media, that Hook's main target is banking applications owned by financial institutions around the world. To date, this virus has been seen in the US, Spain, Australia, Poland, Canada, Turkiye, UK, France, Italy and Portugal.
According to researchers, Hook was created by the cybercrime group DukeEugene. They are also responsible for the development of other dangerous BlackRock and ERMAC Android viruses.
