WHO unveils criteria for approval of COVID-19 vaccine

The World Health Organization (WHO) will not approve any coronavirus vaccine that is not entirely safe and effective," WHO official Margaret Harris stated, Report says, citing RIA Novosti. 

"No vaccine currently in use has completed the third phase of testing. All our partners report their activity to us. WHO would like to see clear information about vaccines and results. As the WHO Director-General said, we will not approve any vaccine that is not completely safe and has not been proven effective."

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in China's Wuhan, and the causative agent is a new type of coronavirus officially named COVID-19.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a new coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.
