WHO: Tuberculosis killed 1.3 million people last year

Baku. 7 January. REPORT.AZ/ Nearly 1.3 million people around the globe died from tuberculosis last year, according to a report of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Report informs citing Anadolu that nearly10 million people were infected with tuberculosis throughout that period including 3.2 million women and 1 million children. Moreover, 90 percent of those infected with tuberculosis were older than 15. This disease is most common in Africa and Asia.
At the same time, the number of those using antibiotics for the TB treatment has reached 558,000.
