The World Health Organization (WHO) supposes that 'Deltacron' is not the combination of two viruses, WHO's Covid-19 technical lead Maria Van Kerkhove said on Twitter, as quoted by Report.
She urged not to use the name 'Deltacron' any further. She also suggests not using the word 'flurone,' which means the simultaneous infection with coronavirus and influenza.
"These words imply a combination of viruses/variants & this is not happening. "Deltacron" is likely contamination during sequencing," Van Kerkhove said.
