The "Delta" variant of the coronavirus, first discovered in India, is becoming dominant worldwide, WHO Chief Researcher Soumya Swaminathan told a briefing, Report informs, citing TASS.

"This option is becoming dominant around the world because of its easier human-to-human transmission," she said.

Earlier it was reported that 89.3% of COVID-19 patients in Moscow had an Indian strain.
