'We have returned to normal life,' WHO official in Azerbaijan says

Azerbaijan is one of the countries taking rapid measures against coronavirus, head of the WHO office in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci said, Report informs.

"COVID-19 was first detected in Azerbaijan on February 19, 2020, and within a year, right after the vaccine was developed, the country launched the vaccination process," Harmanci noted.

She said the immediate measures are worthy of appraisal: "The construction of new buildings, increase in the number of labs and other steps constitute the process that is not so rapid even in normal life. We praise the achieved result."

"The population of Azerbaijan quickly accepted the vaccine and observed protective measures. The number of infections has remained stable over the past month. We can say that we have returned to normal life," the WHO official said, calling on the population to continue respecting distance, wearing masks indoors, and observing hand hygiene.
