The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan (FSA) continues to control food imports into the country, Report informs.

During the control measures, 40 tons of seed potatoes imported by ZE-DENT LLC from Russia to Azerbaijan were inspected by the agency.

As part of the inspection, samples were taken from the imported product and submitted to the relevant laboratory of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute. As a result of the checks, quarantine pests (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus) were found in the samples. The agency decided to destroy the batch of seed potatoes as it was considered unfit for use.

FSA continues to take consistent measures to protect the population's health and provide safe food, and appropriate measures will be taken to prevent violations of consumer rights.
