Russian dietitian Inna Kononenko named products that use for breakfast can harm your health and lead to obesity, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
Firstly, the specialist recommended excluding fast-digested cereals from the morning diet, since they sharply increase blood sugar levels and provoke insulin release.
"As a result, it turns out that neither the stomach has this porridge, nor the blood retains glucose, and the person wants to eat again," she explained.
The list of " harmful breakfasts " also includes muesli and cereals filled with milk or juice, sandwiches, and toast with jams.
Moreover, Kononenko dispelled the myth about the benefits of fresh juices and smoothies. According to her, they contain a large number of simple sugars. Besides, the amount of fructose depends on the type of fruit.
"On the one hand, it is glucose, and on the other — fructose. All fructose quickly gets to the liver, where it turns into liver fat. As a result, we get weight gain."
