In less than two weeks, 25 outbreaks of avian influenza (H5N1) were registered in Moldova, Report informs, citing the press service of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA).
"From December 22, 2023 to January 2, 2024, ten outbreaks of H5N1 were registered in the republic in non-professional farms, another 15 in birds in the wild. 3-kilometer protective zones and 10-kilometer observation zones were established," according to the agency's website.
At the same time, the Agency announces an outbreak of rabies in cattle detected in the Rezina region of Moldova, and rabies in a wild fox in the Edinet region.
"The corpses of infected animals were destroyed by cremation... Measures are being taken to control and eliminate outbreaks of the disease," the agency emphasized.
