Follow these instructions to keep coronavirus away

The coronavirus pandemic is rapidly spreading worldwide. Along with the measures taken by the government and relevant authorities, people also have to comply with several guidelines to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Report introduces ‘14-day rule’ to combat the virus:

• Do not travel abroad if it is not essential. Cancel or postpone your trips. Upon coming back to the homeland, spend the first 14 days of your arrival at home, do not accept visitors, and self-isolate. Never enter the isolation room without a mask. Ventilate the space during this period.
• If you are back from a coronavirus affected country, avoid contact with people, especially the elderly and those with chronic health conditions.
• Wash your hands frequently with water and soap for at least 20 seconds, rubbing properly.

• Clean high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, sinks, and faucets with water and bleach every day
• Avoid sharing personal household items, such as towels, cups, forks and spoons, bath sponges, razors, and toothbrushes.
• Launder your clothes at 60-90 degrees with laundry detergent.
• Drink more water, eat, and sleep well to keep your immune system healthy.
• If you have to leave home, wear a mask.
• Visit healthcare centers wearing a mask if you have symptoms like fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
• Avoid non-essential travels. If you have to, please adhere to ’14-day rule.’

The new coronavirus outbreak was first recorded in late December 2019 in Wuhan, the most populous city in Central China. The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), officially named as Covid-19 by the WHO, has affected 148 countries so far. A total of 169,400 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection, including 6,515 deaths, 77,260 recovered.

On March 11, the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
