British scientists announce end of coronavirus pandemic

The coronavirus will pose a serious threat until at least 2026, Report informs citing RIA Novosti that this is the conclusion reached by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) specialists.

"SARS-CoV-2 will continue to threaten the healthcare system and require active monitoring through vaccination and data monitoring for at least five years to come," the organization said.

According to experts, this period may increase if measures for vaccination and general containment of the spread of the disease are not effective enough.

In addition, British scientists determined that in the United Kingdom, compared with the rest of Europe, the situation with the increase in incidence has stabilized. In their opinion, this was achieved thanks to a widespread vaccination campaign.
