No evidence exists to support the feasibility of transmission of coronavirus through blood transfusions, says the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).
“So far, no case of blood-borne transmission of respiratory viruses, including coronavirus, has been reported. It hasn’t been confirmed whether the infection is transmitted through blood components. The World Bank uses the latest methods to ensure the safe collection and supply of blood components and make all necessary changes,” said TABIB.
