To protect against infectious diseases transmitted from animals, the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan is taking measures in accordance with the epizootic situation around the world, the Agency told Report.
Cases of nodular dermatitis were recorded in Transbaikalia, highly pathogenic avian influenza - in the administrative-territorial unit of Kgatleng of the Republic of Botswana, and cases of spongiform encephalopathy in the states of Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso of the Federal Republic of Brazil.
To prevent the penetration of infectious diseases into the territory of Azerbaijan, which are transmitted from animals, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the import of animal products from these countries into Azerbaijan.
At the same time, to strengthen control measures, an appeal was sent to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan to take appropriate steps concerning vehicles arriving or transiting from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Botswana, and the Federative Republic of Brazil.
