Under the relevant presidential order and decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance has paid overtime to 9,015 healthcare personnel, and 2,692 non-medical workers taking part in measures to combat the novel coronavirus, in proportion to their working hours for April.

A total of 13.1 million AZN were paid to medical and non-medical workers in 140 state medical institutions in Baku and 115 in other cities and regions of the country; the Agency told Report.

Azerbaijan recorded a total of 5,494 coronavirus cases so far.

The country imposed a month-long lockdown on March 24 and first extended it until May 31, then June 15.

On May 29, the country decided to ease some restrictions from May 31, reopening large shopping centers and malls (except for children and other entertainment centers, cinemas, and public catering spaces), allowing outdoor sports events without spectators. Moreover, on-site customer service in restaurants, cafés, tea houses, as well as all public catering facilities will be restored from 08:00 to 22:00 (except for the public catering facilities using hookah and organization of mass festivities, meetings with more than ten people).
