Azerbaijan confirms 57 new COVID-19 cases

Azerbaijan has reported 57 more cases of coronavirus as of April 6, raising the tally to 641, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers told Report.

Twelve people have recovered from the infection.

The number of fully recovered patients stands at 44, while the death toll is seven.

The treatment of 590 people (11 are in critical, 17 moderate, others in stable condition) is underway.

So far, the country has tested over 45,000 individuals and placed up 4,369 under quarantine.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to over 200 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 1,000,000 globally, resulting in more than 70,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
