Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decree to change the procedure for quarantine control of COVID-19 patients, Report informs.

Thus, changes have been made to the "Rules for quarantine control of infectious diseases transmitted by airborne droplets in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan." According to the decision, if a person in contact during the quarantine period is found to have symptoms of infectious disease, they will undergo a laboratory examination. If the test is positive, the person will be treated.

The decision will take effect on January 24.

Under the previous rule, laboratory examination of persons, who were under quarantine control at their place of residence or stay, was carried out in accordance with this rule. When the results of quarantine controls were negative at the end of the quarantine period, the quarantine period was considered over. The person under quarantine control was not allowed to leave the place of residence or stay until the results of the last laboratory examination were obtained at the end of the quarantine period.
