Australian nutritionist Susie Burrell has revealed the subtle dangers of eating healthy, Report informs referring to the Daily Mail.

Foods that are considered healthy are often high in calories, sugar, and carbohydrates. Therefore, they should be consumed in moderation.

One of these foods is smoothies. Although it is made with fresh fruits, nuts, and yogurt, which are generally considered healthy, the resulting product does not fit well with a healthy and balanced diet. Since a single serving of smoothies can contain up to 800 calories and 80 grams of sugar, it is easy to exceed your daily intake. Burrell stressed that a smoothie is a complete meal, not a complimentary drink.

Another high-calorie food often associated with a healthy diet is brown rice. The expert pointed out that one cup of cooked rice contains a whopping 40 grams of carbohydrates. It corresponds to three to four slices of white bread.

Dried fruits, which are often sold in health food stores, are also high in calories and may contain excess sugar. According to Burrell, fresh fruit is preferable. And baked chips, which are often touted as a healthy alternative to regular chips, are best kept out of the way. They are lower in calories, fat and sugar, but they also lack nutritional value.
