“Uzbekistan is one of the most important countries of the Turkic world," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, who is on a visit to Baku, said, Report informs.
"Uzbekistan's membership in the Turkic Council is a historic step. The participation of this country will further strengthen the organization. As Turkey and the Turkic people, we are very glad to see this, " Çavuşoğlu said.
Notably, the 7th summit of the Turkic Council will be held in Baku on October 15.
The summit is timed to the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan agreement (October 3, 2009) on the establishment of the cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council). The agreement was signed by the leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
