United States intends to expand co-op with Azerbaijan, Ambassador Litzenberger says

The US-Azerbaijani ties are based on three pillars: security, economy, and energy, support for human rights and law enforcement, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger said during his visit to Nakhchivan.

Report informs that, according to the ambassador, the United States intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, including with Nakhchivan, in all mentioned directions.

He said the United States could assist the State Customs Committee and State Border Service in fighting the smuggling of drugs and other kinds of smuggling. He voiced his country’s interest in exploring the opportunities for cooperation for the US companies that can be useful for both countries. According to the ambassador, the United States would like to see more students from Nakhchivan in the US-funded state programs. Litzenberger voiced confidence that during his visit, he managed to lay the basis for this work.
