ADA University has held a conference on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
Addressing the event, UNDP Resident Representative for Azerbaijan Alessandro Fracassetti touched upon the serious threats to the UN countries, Report informs.
"We live in a world of rapid change and complex challenges," he said.
“We should make more efforts than ever before. We need to boost international cooperation further to respond to global challenges together. The first problem is the rising sea level caused by climate change and global warming. Demographic changes are the second most important issue. By the end of the century, the world population will be around 11 billion people. The third threat is violence against youth, while the fourth is the information technologies that will help make the world a fairer place. We need to determine where we can apply them and what potential and capacities they have," the UNDP official said.
Vice-rector of ADA University Fariz Ismayilov also spoke at the event.
"Today, the world is facing numerous challenges in terms of conflicts. We need to support and strengthen the United Nations further to fight global threats," Ismayilov said.
