The new UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, has released a video message:
"I am deeply honored to start my work in Azerbaijan's UN Resident Coordinator. The beginning of my tenor in this beautiful country coincides with serious challenges - the COVID-19 pandemic and post-conflict recovery. The UN family has been supporting Azerbaijan's response to these two events. We are working closely with the government to address the needs of affected populations. We have also embarked on an ambitious, new five-year country-cooperation framework to accelerate Azerbaijan's progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Next year, we will approach a significant milestone in our partnership - the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's membership in the UN and the establishment of the UN Office in the country. This will be a great opportunity to reflect on the many achievements of our partnership, as well as the prospects for future cooperation. I am looking forward to working with all of you - our partners in the government, civil society, the private sector, academia, and others - to ensure that we make progress in the priority areas identified in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation framework and support Azerbaijan in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals," she said.
