UN General Assembly accepts Azerbaijan’s demand to convene special session

The UN General Assembly has accepted Azerbaijan’s demand to convene a special session, said Monica Grayley, spokesperson for the president of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, the US bureau of Report informs.
Thus, Chairman of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and Permanent Representative to the UN Dennis Francis sent a letter to the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN.
The letter notes that a special session of the General Assembly will be held on October 26 at UN headquarters in New York with the participation of 120 full members, 18 observer states and 10 international observer organizations.
