Wendy Morton, UK Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), has arrived in Azerbaijan for a two-day visit, Report informs.
The visit aims to strengthen relations between the UK and Azerbaijan in such areas of cooperation as green energy, solve climate change problems, and advance women’s rights.
During the visit, Morton will hold several official meetings.
On February 9, Wendy Morton will also participate in the annual UK-Azerbaijan Strategic Dialogue Summit and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to expand partnerships on environment and climate issues.
"Salam Bakı, Azərbaycan! As the first UK Foreign & Development Minister to visit Azerbaijan, I will be working closely with Azerbaijani MFA to advance women’s rights - ensuring they have more opportunities in business and politics and can be safe from violence," she tweeted.
