UK appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

Mr James Sharp has been appointed British Queen's Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan in succession to Dr Carole Crofts who will be retiring from the Diplomatic Service, Report informs citing the UK government.
Mr Sharp will take up his appointment during July 2019. From 2013 to 2015 Mr Sharp headed the Migration Directorate at the UK Foreign Office and from 2017 till 2018 was the Policy Advisor at the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate.
Mr Sharp speaks Arabic, Russian and Azerbaijani languages.
He has two sons.
