Turkish parliamentary official condemns burning of Azerbaijani flag in Los Angeles

"The fact that a group of extremist Armenians in the United States welcomed the execution of a scarecrow wrapped on the Azerbaijani flag and held a demonstration openly threatening Azerbaijanis is the result of the campaign," Head of the Public Relations Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration Fakhraddin Altun wrote on Twitter, Report informs.

"Armenian terrorist Hamping Sasunyan, who assassinated the Turkish Consul General in Los Angeles in 1982, was released in March. We warned that the impunity of these murderers would only serve to encourage the supporters of a new generation of extremists.

"Distortion of history encourages Armenian extremists who threaten Azerbaijanis living in the United States. We are concerned about this fact. Turkey stands by Azerbaijan against all threats and urges the US leadership to take the necessary measures. An exhibition dedicated to our diplomats killed by Armenian terrorists will open in Los Angeles on May 1," he said.
