Turkish ombudsman: Friendly relations with Azerbaijan are not targeting other countries

Baku. 26 October. REPORT.AZ/ "Azerbaijan and Turkey maintain fraternal relations. The presidents of the two countries demonstrate this closeness in all spheres. These friendly relations are not targeting other countries," Turkey's Human Rights Activist, Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç said.

Report informs that Malkoç was speaking at the interactive discussions 'On the role of youth, women, parliament, public community and other concerned parties in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals'.

He said many regions of the world are stricken with conflicts and clashes, while human rights are endangered there: "Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions were occupied by Armenians. For this reason, Azerbaijan accounts for more than 1 million refugees and displaced persons. This leads to social problems. Part of their family members died at war. This is a tragedy. These problems must be eliminated. Turkey also takes steps to eradicate such problems."
