Turkic Council to hold next summit on September 3 in Kyrgyzstan

Baku. 22 August. REPORT.AZ/ The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (the Turkic Council) will hold its next summit on September 3 in Kyrgyzstan after three-year interval, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration Daniyar Sidikov told journalists, Report informs сiting Interfax.  

‘The sixth summit will be held on September 3 in the town of Cholpon-Ata (Issyk Kul District). We are expecting the summit to be productive. The sides have already confirmed their participation. The summit will also be attended by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Hungarian PM Viktor Orban’, Sidikov said.

According to him, the summit aims to support integration processes and promotion of Turkic culture. Within the summit, the chairmanship to the organization will be transferred from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.

The Turkic Council includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey (since late April 2018) and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan has a status of observer in the Turkic Council.

The last summit of the Turkic Council was held in 2015 in Astana.
