Turkic Council organizes videoconference of member states' US consuls

The consuls of the embassies of the Turkic Council member states in the US held a videoconference.

The meeting took place on the initiative of Azerbaijani President, Chairman of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States Ilham Aliyev as a continuation of the Extraordinary Video Summit of the Turkish Council, the consular section of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington told Report.

The attendees observed a minute of silence to commemorate the memory of those killed during the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijan’s Shusha city, which was considered an art center of Turkish culture.

The participants mulled the measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in their countries, visa policy for foreigners willing to visit these countries, the quarantine regime, resumption of commercial flights, evacuation plans, and the possible opportunities for cooperation in the current situation.

Along with the representative of the Turkic Council, the consuls of the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan in the United States took part in the video conference.

At a time when the coronavirus pandemic is spreading across the world, the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States is proving to be a successful and useful regional organization, and this format is truly capable of responding to global challenges.
