Tokayev: OTS judicial cooperation growing stronger

Judicial and law‑enforcement cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is steadily strengthening, Kazakhstan's President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev said, Report informs, citing the Kazakh President Administration (Akorda).

Tokayev made the remark while receiving the heads of supreme courts of OTS member countries - including Inam Karimov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Supreme Court; Mederbek Satyev, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Supreme Court; Ömer Kerkez, Chairman of Türkiye's Court of Cassation; Zeki Yiğit, Chairman of Türkiye's Council of State; and Alisher Usmanov, First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan's Supreme Court.

Welcoming the guests, Tokayev highlighted the special role of OTS in advancing cooperation among Turkic nations:

"It should be emphasized that judicial and law‑enforcement cooperation among member states is steadily strengthening. Tomorrow's prestigious forum in Turkistan will be clear proof of this. The judiciary is of great importance for the progress and prosperity of any civilized country. Therefore, deepening ties among supreme courts fully serves the common interests of our brotherly peoples."

He noted that many countries today are pursuing dynamic development to meet the challenges of the times and keep pace with global technological change:

"We must unite our efforts and act together. Tomorrow's conference in Turkistan will comprehensively discuss judicial digitalization, protection of investors' rights, and other important issues. Such an agenda is timely and relevant. The exchange of views will undoubtedly give strong impetus to the development of our organization and strengthen its authority. Kazakhstan supports all positive initiatives within OTS and will continue to do so."
