"As the Azerbaijani side, I offered during the talks with Head of Turkish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Volkan Bozkir and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Beraia to hold this meeting online. Both my counterparts welcomed this offer. Thus, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia will hold a trilateral online meeting on May 12 to discuss the political, economic, cultural relations widely," Chairman of the Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Samad Seyidov said.

According to him, they will also discuss Azerbaijan's experience in the prevention of widespread of the coronavirus, quarantine regime, and dangers after softening of the quarantine.

"We will also deliver Azerbaijan's methods and experience in the fight against coronavirus, which was presented by President Ilham Aliyev at Extraordinary Summit of Turkic Council and Summit of Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement held through videoconferencing. At the same time, we intend to discuss the roles of parliaments in joint activity to prevent the second wave of the infection. As is known, this infection is still dangerous. It will be more dangerous if the rules are not obeyed after the softening of the quarantine regime. Therefore, as the President said, joint activity is the only way for a solution to this problem. As the parliamentarians of the three countries, we intend to discuss this issue," the MP said.

The Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Georgian Parliamentary Committees on International Relations regularly hold trilateral meetings. The first meeting initiated by Azerbaijan was held in Baku. The next meeting, which had to be held in May in Georgia, was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
