Tbilisi hosts International Silk Road Forum

An international Silk Road Forum is being held in the Georgian capital.

Local bureau of Report informs that the event, organized under the auspices of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, is attended by more than 2,000 delegates, including more than 30 high-ranking officials from 60 countries and 400 foreign private sector representatives.

The forum aims to establish a platform for an annual high level meeting where interested parties can get together and explore opportunities, align visions and enhance bilateral partnerships in four main areas of cooperation: transport, energy, trade and business-to-business contacts.

The forum will consider the issues of the development of the Great Silk Road, regional security, economic, energy, infrastructure projects, logistics and regional cooperation. It will also focus on major regional oil and gas projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.

Azərbaycanı beynəlxalq tədbirdə nəqliyyat, rabitə və yüksək texnologiyalar naziri Ramin Quluzadə, onun müavini Elmir Vəlizadə, “Azərbaycan Dəmir Yolları” QSC-nin sədri Cavid Qurbanov, Azərbaycan Respublikası Dövlət Neft Şirkətinin (SOCAR) yataqların işlənməsi üzrə vitse-prezidenti Yaşar Lətifov, “Bakı Beynəlxalq Dəniz Ticarət Limanı” QSC-nin baş direktoru Taleh Ziyadov təmsil edirlər.

Foruma beynəlxalq korpus, təşkilat və maliyyə qurumlarının təmsilçiləri də qatılıblar. Tədbiri 200-ə yaxın yerli və xarici media nümayəndələri işıqlandırır.

Oktyabrın 23-də də davam edəcək beynəlxalq tədbir çərçivəsində 200-ə yaxın B2B görüşlər planlaşdırılıb.

Qeyd edək ki, Tbilisi İpək Yolu Forumu 2015-ci ildən etibarən iki ildə bir dəfə keçirilir 

Azerbaijan is represented at the international event by Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, his deputy Elmir Velizade, chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Javid Gurbanov, Vice President for Development of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Yashar Latifov, Director-General of "Baku International Sea Trade Port" CJSC Taleh Ziyadov.

The forum is also attended by representatives of international missions, organizations and financial institutions. The event will be covered by nearly 200 local and foreign media.

About 200 B2B meetings are planned as part of the international event to be held on October 23.

Notably, the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum has been held every two years since 2015.
