Task forces have been established in the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkiye, as well as in the General Consulates in Istanbul and Kars, over the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaras and surrounding districts of Turkiye, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Report.

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkiye is in operative contact with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Turkiye's Disaster And Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), and other relevant state bodies of Turkiye, as well as the head of the delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan that arrived in Turkiye for assistance. It is being investigated whether there are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan affected by the earthquake.

The embassy is in regular contact with Azerbaijani students studying in Turkiye.
