Azerbaijan and Jordanian Foreign Ministers hold expanded talks in Baku – UPDATED

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al Safadi, held an expanded-format meeting in Baku.

According to Report, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, trade, humanitarian, and other fields, and exchanged views on regional and international issues.

The ministers underscored the importance of expanding the bilateral legal framework and making more effective use of the Azerbaijan–Jordan Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation to promote more systematic development of bilateral ties.

During the visit, the ministers signed an Agreement on the Mutual Abolition of Visa Requirements for Holders of Ordinary Passports between Azerbaijan and Jordan, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Cooperation between the energy ministries of the two countries.

Bayramov also briefed his Jordanian counterpart on the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the historic agreements reached at the Washington Summit in August last year and the current state of the peace process.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, is holding talks with Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi is currently on an official visit to Baku. As part of his visit, he was received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
