The arrival of our Committee in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan is always a friendly meeting.

"The arrival of our Committee at the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan is always a friendly meeting. We have a very warm relationship," Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Viktor Vodolatsky told Russian bureau of Report.

The politician noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, always receives representatives of the Committee very warmly and supports the implementation of new joint projects.

According to the politician, the signing of the new agreement between our countries will bring the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan even closer and help the new generation learn a lot about each other’s culture, history and traditions: "To date, 15 Russian and Azerbaijani cities are ready to sign an agreement on international municipal cooperation. What is it? This is not just about the arrival of friends on City Day. This is a deeper connection between schools, sports teams, creative teams. And when we get to know each other more, we simultaneously study the culture, traditions, customs of the peoples living in Russia and Azerbaijan. This is much more effective than protocol events. When children come to their twin cities and visit school, participate in quizzes, festivals, they slowly get acquainted with the Azerbaijani language, culture, and vice versa, Azerbaijani children get acquainted with the Russian language and culture. This is very important; therefore, we pay special attention to this area. I think it will be most effective in the work of our specialized committees," Vodolatsky said.
