Speaker of Milli Mejlis criticizes President of European Parliament

Baku. 28 November. REPORT.AZ/ "As a speaker of the Parliament, I wrote to the president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, but he did not reply. They do not have political cultures. They immediately react to the events occurred in Azerbaijan. At first, they should look at what is happening in EU states. They should pay attention to the anti-Semitism, discrimination, and the attitudes towards migrants, as well as, the police's violence cases that take place in other countries. But they focus on several Muslim countries in Europe and are engaged in the fake allegations against them."

Report informs, Speaker of Milli Mejlis Ogtay Asadov said it while commenting on the statement of the president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz on Azerbaijan at EP plenary session in Strasbourg on November 26.

"Martin Schulz said that he requested the visit of EP delegation  to Azerbaijan with regard of the issue on Leyla Yunus. It is absolutely false. Neither Milli Mejlis nor the Azerbaijan government received the appeal. As we know, they could not even compile a group. Neither of politicians can win respect by telling a lie in such a prestigious event.Therefore, I would like to reiterate that we have an attitude towards them as they do. Every time we try to build a high level of relations with the European Parliament. Our MPs go to Europe with complete broad delegation. 2-3 of them attend the meetings. We must have the same  attitude as they show  towards us."- O.Asadov stated.
