Several documents have been adopted during the 52nd plenary session of the CIS IPA (Interparliamentary Assembly). The documents were proposed by the standing commission on social policy and human rights chaired by Nizami Safarov, a member of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
The meeting participants discussed the legislative regulation of migration processes during a pandemic and the role of the parliaments of the CIS member states in this process.
“The specified code is intended to promote the harmonization of mechanisms of legal regulation of migration processes in the CIS countries, and will also contribute to the convergence and unification of the law enforcement practice of implementing interstate agreements in the field of migration. I would also like to note that migration, which has halved in digital terms due to the global problem of COVID will undoubtedly return to its former values,” Nizami Safarov explained.
In light of the spread of coronavirus, the “Law on Clinical Recommendations for the Provision of Medical Care in the CIS Member States” was proposed, which includes documents containing a systematic analysis of scientific and clinically proven information on the provision of medical care.
The laws “On ensuring the rights of children to healthcare in the CIS member states,” regulating the protection of children’s rights to health, were unanimously adopted.
The “Law on Access to Information on the Legal Status of Citizens” was also adopted. This recommendation has been prepared with the aim of developing unified approaches to the procedure for accessing information on the legal status of a participant in the CIS countries or achieving mutually agreed approaches to obtaining information that allows each citizen to exercise his or her right to access information about his or her own legal status.
The documents have been adopted by all participants in the meeting.
