GUAM Secretary General: Azerbaijan is making a significant contribution to development of GUAM in Baku

Baku. 24 December. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan is actively working within the GUAM format in the fight against organized crime, transport, cyber-security. Report was told by the Secretary General of GUAM Valeri Chechelashvili in an interview.

Azerbaijan as a state-founder of the organization, makes a significant contribution to its development. The Republic of Azerbaijan takes an active part in the meetings of the GUAM working bodies, said V. Chechelashvili.He also pointed to the successful coordination work by Azerbaijan in the working group on energy - So, for the past two years, two seminars were held on the issues of renewable energy in the GUAM member states within the framework of GUAM-Japan cooperation and with the support of the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe.

In addition, the Secretary General noted that Azerbaijan also acts as coordinator of the working group on Culture and Tourism.In the future, it is planned to organize the photo exhibition called 10 reasons to visit the Member States of GUAM. The Republic of Azerbaijan also very actively working in format of other working bodies of the GUAM - to combat organized crime, transport, cyber security, and so on, said Chechelashvili.
